    What are the potential impacts of the use of HAPS technology? The use of HAPS can potentially positively impact the right to life by aiding disaster management, search and rescue missions, and monitoring natural disasters and human rights abuses. However, the deployment of HAPS for border surveillance may push asylum seekers and migrants to riskier routes, potentially increasing the likelihood of accidents, injuries, or fatalities. This current insight presents a review of the impact of HAPS technology on fundamental rights.
