On February 22 and 23, 2011, Frontex will organise a workshop on the deployment of Integrated Sensor and Platforms for Border Surveillance at the EU external borders. Key stakeholders and representatives of EU Member States will attend.
The objective of the workshop is to present and debate the main challenges related to integrated system solutions and their use for creating more efficient and effective border surveillance and to present available technical solutions. The workshop will also focus on other types of tools/platforms (e.g. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) for border surveillance.
Frontex invites leading industries in this field to attend the workshop. Due to the limited space, Frontex accepts expressions of interest on a strictly first-come, first-served basis, under the following conditions:
- If you wish to attend the workshop as a participant, a maximum of two representatives per company will be accepted. Attendance is free of charge, but industry representatives will be asked to cover the cost of their own meals and accommodation.
- During the workshop, there will be an opportunity for up to four industry representatives to give brief presentations on concrete solutions for the deployment of integrated system solutions at borders. The presentations must focus on specific technological developments that will assist in the deployment of the border surveillance at the EU external borders. In order to ensure broad coverage of technologies, the content of the presentations will be screened in advance. The organisers reserve the right to cancel any presentation that they do not deem appropriate for the purposes of the meeting.
Please express your interest to Frontex, exclusively by e-mail to Zdravko Kolev at zdravko.kolev@frontex.europa.eu
