Is
your company active in innovative document security solutions? Do you want to
contribute to combating document fraud? The Frontex Document and Identity
Control Expert Groups will hold their annual plenary meeting in Warsaw,
followed by an Industry Day (I-Day) on 27 February 2025. Apply by 24 January to
join the experts and present your innovative products and solutions.
Every year, Frontex's expert networks
- the High-Level Round Table on Document and Identity Control and the Frontex
Expert Group on Document Control
- meet for a plenary session to exchange information and plan their priorities.
Representatives from the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
North-Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia), Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine, as well as
international and regional organisations that have a stake in document and
identity control, and are involved in the fight against document fraud, also
attend, providing a truly global overview of the situation, policies, and working methods.
We
want to know what technological innovations industry is working on!
In 2025, the plenary meeting will take place in Warsaw. On the third
day of the event, on Thursday, 27 February, Frontex is organising an I-Day for
companies to present their innovative solutions for document security with the
aim of combating document fraud.
Frontex is particularly interested in the
following solutions:
- Stationary and mobile equipment for processing/capturing
images for document databases capable of:
o capturing visual
information in a semi-automated, rapid, and standardised manner
o producing visual data
on false and genuine documents
o producing qualitative
visual data on document elements and security features
- Technology related to the issuance of secured documents:
o latest security
features developed to increase the level of security of travel and identity documents: OVD (substrates, inks, and other variable security features), transparent windows and other new security features visible under different sources of light
o new features in the
field of digital identity or useful for the electronic component of travel documents
- Document inspection systems:
o the latest technology
for document inspection systems
o technologies
developed within the framework of the future use of digital travel credentials
What’s in it for you?
I-Day provides an invaluable opportunity for industry
representatives to showcase their cutting-edge technological solutions and innovations in border
management for the European Border and Coast Guard community, comprising representatives from Frontex and Member States' border
authorities.
- A selection of industry representatives will be allocated a 30-minute slot during which they will deliver a
presentation and respond to questions from the audience.
- Afterwards, an
industry exhibition will take place, during which companies will have the
opportunity to showcase their products and/or technical solutions in a dedicated
space. Basic logistics support (power, table, AV) will be provided.
Your
presence at the I-Day event will put your innovative technological solutions in
the spotlight and provide an invaluable opportunity for you to connect with the European Border and Coast Guard
community.
How
to participate?
If you are interested in attending I-Day,
please register by 24 January 2025. You are asked to fill in an online
survey order to provide
a description of the solution or product you wish to present.
Following the deadline for submissions,
Frontex will select the six most useful technological solutions. All submissions will be evaluated
internally to ensure alignment with the needs of the European Border and Coast
Guard community, while guaranteeing the fair and transparent treatment of all
participants.
Please note that there are no fees associated with participation in the event. However, costs related to travel and accommodation will not be
reimbursed.
