General Industry Days: Technology Fusion for Border Surveillance and Border Checks

2024-09-16

Would you like to showcase your novel solutions and technologies that can support law enforcement activities for border management? Do you want to contribute to ensuring safer EU borders?  Frontex Online I-Days are a great opportunity to engage with the European Border and Coast Guard Community. Join us on Webex, on 26 and 27 November 2024.

By organising the General Industry Days, Frontex wishes to create a forum for technology providers to present how their innovative solutions can help to address the challenges faced by the European Border and Coast Guard community and ensure security at the external EU borders.

We are looking for innovations and solutions for the future in the following fields:

  • Integration of technologies for improved border management, e.g. new modular solutions using more than one type of border surveillance or border checks equipment.
  • Solutions for visualising/simulating different scenarios related to border surveillance or border checks, e.g. efficiency of location of surveillance equipment and patrol.
  • Management of enlarged datasets for border management, e.g. machine learning; secure technologies for classifying, storing, retrieving and visualising large data sets; pre-processing and processing tools using AI, cloud/EDGE computing.
  • The newest capabilities of drones.

What’s in it for you?

  • Share your latest technological developments and the state-of-the-art solutions by delivering a short presentation.
  • Register your innovative solutions on an interactive digital exhibition platform.

  • Connect with the European Border and Coast Guard community composed of Frontex experts and Member States’ border guard authorities.

How to participate?

If you are interested in attending the General Industry Days, please express your interest by 11 October 2024 by filling in an online registration form with the description of the solution you wish to present. Technological solutions must respect the legal limitations resulting from the data protection rules and human rights provisions. After the submission’s deadline, Frontex will select up to sixteen technological solutions. All submissions will be evaluated internally, ensuring alignment with the needs of the European Border and Coast Guard community while guaranteeing the fair and transparent treatment of all participants. The selection is based on the following criteria: effectiveness, efficiency, innovation and relevance for the European Border and Coast Guard community. All relevant innovative solutions will be given the opportunity to register on Frontex’s interactive digital exhibition platform.
