Frontex launches a series of webcasts on border management

2018-06-12

On Tuesday, Frontex will launch a series of webcasts highlighting the work of the graduates of its unique Joint Master’s in Strategic Border Management programme.

In the first live presentation of the “Master’s on the Road” series, Lt. Col Pascal Robin Wolf of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee will talk about the protection of mental health of border guards in stressful situations. He will also speak about the establishment of a common European Mental Health Management programme for border guards.

The presentation will be streamed live in English on YouTube on Tuesday, 12 June, from 10.00 CEST.

The webcast is hosted by the National Police Corps, Policia Nacional, in Madrid. The Joint Master’s programme is Europe’s only such specialised degree focused on border management from a strategic point of view. It was developed by the agency in collaboration with six partner universities and more than 20 EU border guard training organisations and academies.

The Joint Master’s programme reflects one of Frontex’s core commitments to support education and development of national border guards by establishing common training standards at the European level. The first group of 23 students completed the programme a year ago. The second class is scheduled to graduate next year.
