Frontex joined the Corpo delle Capitanerie di Porto – Guardia Costiera and the Armed Forces of Malta in Sicily for Barracuda Exercise 2025, a two-day maritime drill focusing on search and rescue, environmental protection, accident response, maritime monitoring, and ship security. Supported by EMSA and EFCA, the exercise tested cross-border coordination, strengthened operational cooperation, and provided hands-on experience to improve rapid and effective response capabilities, showcasing the value of EU-level teamwork in keeping Europe’s waters safe and secure.
