Industry Days: Digital Twin for Border Management

2026-01-29

Do you have a technology that harnesses digital‑twin and associated emerging technologies in novel ways? Are you looking for an opportunity to showcase how your innovations can improve decision‑making and operational efficiency across industries, including but not limited to border management?

The Research & Innovation Unit at Frontex invites you to an Industry Day on 24 February 2026.

This online event provides a forum for technology providers to present how their solutions can address complex challenges faced by the European Border and Coast Guard community while inspiring applications in a variety of sectors.

Focus areas

We are looking for innovations and solutions in the following fields:

  • Digital‑twin simulations for decision support- Platforms that reproduce real‑life situations and processes so that different scenarios can be explored, and evidence‑based recommendations can be made. These models should enable border authorities to simulate complex situations and test multiple strategies.
  • Integration of new and enlarged data sets- Technologies that combine Earth‑observation products, big‑data computing, AI integration and data‑fusion techniques to enrich situational awareness. Innovative methods and platforms to explore and integrate these data sets are particularly welcome.
  • Emerging data‑processing paradigms- Solutions built on machine learning, artificial intelligence, cloud computing for automation, high‑performance simulation engines and gamified or immersive interfaces.
  • Cross‑industry applications- Digital‑twin technologies are transforming sectors such as aerospace, automotive, retail, energy, construction, logistics, healthcare and insurance. We welcome ideas that could adapt lessons from these domains to border management and other operational contexts, including workspace design, workflow optimisation and crisis‑scenario simulation.
  • Complementary emerging technology- Quantum computing, secure exchange of data, etc.

What’s in it for you?

  • Deliver a presentation- Selected participants will have the opportunity to give a concise presentation about their latest technological developments and state‑of‑the‑art solutions.
  • Connect with end‑users. The event brings together Frontex experts and Member States’ border‑guard authorities, offering a unique chance to network, exchange ideas and explore collaborations.

How to participate?

Please express your interest by 16 February 2026 by filling in the online registration form with a description of the solution you wish to present.

Technological solutions must comply with applicable data‑protection rules and safeguard fundamental rights.

After the deadline, Frontex will select the most relevant solutions based on criteria such as effectiveness, efficiency, innovation and relevance to the needs of the European Border and Coast Guard community and potential cross‑sector applications.

Selected participants will be invited to present their solutions during the event in a timed presentation followed by a Q&A session.
