Every year, Frontex's expert
networks — the High-Level Round Table on Document and Identity Control and the
Frontex Expert Group on Document Control — meet for a plenary session to
exchange information and plan their priorities. Apart from representatives from
the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North-Macedonia,
Montenegro, Serbia), Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine, the participants also
include international and regional organisations that deal with document and
identity control and are involved in the fight against document fraud. Their
presence provides a truly global overview of the situation, policies and
working methods.
In 2026, the plenary meeting will
take place in Warsaw. On the first day of the event, Thursday, 10 March,
Frontex is organizing an Industry Day (I-Day) for companies to present their
innovative solutions for document security aimed at combating document fraud.
Frontex is particularly
interested in:
Technology and mobile
solutions related to chip authentication:
- handheld
document scanning devices
MRZ
Scanning possibilities
Technology related to the
protection of travel documents:
- the
latest security features developed to increase the level of security of travel
and identity documents: OVD (substrates, ink and other variable security
features), transparent windows and other new security features visible in
different sources of lights
-
new
features regarding digital identity or the electronic component of travel
documents
Document inspection systems:
- handheld
inspection devices with multispectral features
-
technologies
related to holography inspection, analysis and authenticity verification
The I-Day provides an invaluable
opportunity for industry representatives to showcase their cutting‑edge
technological solutions and innovations in border management to Frontex and
Member States' border authorities.
- A selection of industry representatives will be
allocated a 30-minute slot during which they will deliver a presentation and
respond to questions from the audience.
-
Afterwards, during an industry exhibition, the
companies will have the opportunity to showcase their products and/or technical
solutions in a dedicated space. Basic logistics support (power connection,
table, AV) will be provided.
Your presence at the I-Day event
will put your innovative technological solutions in the spotlight and provide
an invaluable opportunity for you to connect with the European Border and Coast
Guard community.
If you are interested in
attending the I-Day, please register by 15 February 2026. You are
requested to fill in an online survey providing a description of
the solution or product you wish to present.
Following the deadline for
submissions, Frontex will select six most relevant technological
solutions. All submissions will be evaluated internally to ensure alignment
with the needs of the European Border and Coast Guard community, while
guaranteeing the fair and transparent treatment of all participants.
Please be advised that participation in the event is free
of charge. However, please note that travel and accommodation costs will
not be reimbursed.
