There are four ways to work at Frontex:
- Temporary staff (also known as temporary agents)
- Contract staff (also known as contract agents)
- Seconded national experts (SNE)
- Trainees
Temporary and contract staff are selected through an open recruitment procedure. An employment contract is offered for a period of five years, with a probationary period of nine months. The contract may be renewed.
The total remuneration package of all EU staff consists of a basic salary and family and other allowances, where applicable; the package is also influenced by a correction coefficient (for most Frontex posts, this is 82.3% for Poland, to account for the lower cost of living compared to Brussels).
