Frontex's recruitment process is independent and separate from that of
other EU institutions and EU agencies. Frontex organises recruitment processes
with a view to filling vacant posts according to the agency's recruitment needs
and plans.
The recruitment procedure for specific
posts typically includes these steps:
- Frontex launches recruitments by
publishing vacancy notices on the agency's internet site;
- Each vacancy notice contains all the
necessary information on the post in question and the selection procedure;
- For an application to be considered
valid, it must be submitted using the specific Frontex Application Form and
submitted/uploaded within the stated deadline;
- Valid applications are first checked
for applicants’ eligibility;
- All eligible applications are
screened and evaluated based on a combination of the selection criteria defined
in the vacancy notice;
- The best-qualified applicants are
short-listed for an interview and a written test;
- Based on the outcomes of tests and
interviews, the Executive Director takes the decision to appoint the most
successful applicant for the post in question.
Whenever justified in the interest of the
service (or for general calls for expression of interest), the vacancy notice
may provide for more specific (and more detailed) description of the
recruitment process.
Frontex applies an equal opportunities policy and accepts applications without distinction on grounds of age, race, political, philosophical or religious conviction, sex or sexual orientation and regardless of disabilities, marital status or family situation.
