Each Standing Corps Officer receives basic training to prepare for deployment in operational areas. After basic training, Standing Corps Officers undergo various types of specialised training throughout their careers. More information for Standing Corps Officers can be found under this link.

  • And many more: Frontex staff may also benefit from learning opportunities provided by the European Commission, European School of Administration, top-quality platforms with self-paced e-learning courses, a variety of online events, and much more.

3. Career Progression:

  • Performance: To align with the Agency's goals and expectations, every Frontex staff member's performance is assessed regularly - first in a probationary report, and then during an annual appraisal. This process is two-fold: (1) It involves discussing individual achievements and challenges, as well as (2) focusing on learning and professional development. Objectives are set for each reporting period.
  • Reclassification Opportunities: A merit-based performance appraisal system offers our staff opportunities for reclassification. Staff can advance through different grades based on performance, experience, and qualifications.
  • Internal and Inter-Agency Mobility: Frontex offers various opportunities to move among roles and entities within the Agency, broadening staff experience and skills, while aligning staff expertise with business needs. The possibility of internal mobility contributes to an engaging workplace and a rewarding career. Mobility across other EU agencies is also possible, offering diverse career prospects.
  • Networking within EU Agencies: Staff can attend relevant events or conferences and participate in staff exchange programs, which can significantly enhance their career prospects.
