Vanessa is a trainer from Portugal working in Frontex training centre in Almada.
A sea border expert and PhD holder, Vanessa trains standing corps candidates and coordinates our basic training programme.
She has trained almost 1000 standing corps officers by now.
"The trainees that come for the basic training have different backgrounds - some are law enforcement, some are military. For the trainer it's challenging because you have to always adapt to the group that you have in front of you. And find strategies to make sure that in the end they all achieve the same goal.
I am very proud to share something, to pass on knowledge to my colleagues that are going to work with me side by side. I am very proud to know that I was part of the process."
