Data Protection Office

The Data Protection Office (DPO) ensures, in an independent manner, the internal application of Regulation (EU) No 2018/1725, the EBCG Regulation concerning the processing of personal data and any other applicable rules. It ensures that the Agency only processes personal data for the performance of tasks carried out in the public interest on the basis of the Treaties establishing the European Union, the EBCG Regulation or in the legitimate exercise of official authority vested in the Agency or in a third party to whom the data are disclosed.

Within the DPO, the data protection officer appointed by and accountable to the executive director performs an independent function directly reporting to the executive director.
